Jakob Jakobsen is a Danish artist and initiator whose practice moves between art, activism, publishing, and self-organised institutions. Educated at the Royal Danish Academy of Fine Arts in Copenhagen, he has since the 1990s been involved in experimental art spaces, collective projects, and critical initiatives that challenge traditional art structures. He was a co-founder of the Copenhagen Free University and has initiated several archive-based and research-driven platforms exploring knowledge production, community, and alternative educational models.
Jakobsen has also worked as a professor at Funen Art Academy in Odense, where he focused on building collaborative environments for artistic experimentation. Today he lives and works in Barcelona, continuing to develop projects that connect artistic practice with social and institutional critique.
