About

FemArc is open for researchers and fellows at UiT Norway's Arctic University with an interest in deepening their competence in gender research and/or feminist theory.

The group's activities are aimed at the participants' wishes and needs, but the following activities form the basis of the workplan:

  • Developing, presenting and discussing group members’ 'own texts', or other works that use gender and / or feminist approaches (conference papers, journal articles, etc.  work in progress).
  • Sharing knowledge about national and international knowledge production in the field, including reading journals and books, as well as monitoring what is happening in gender and feminist research in Norway and the world.
  • Participating in relevant  conferences, attending and reporting back to the research group.
  • Discussing and developing gender and / or feminist approaches in  joint applications written by members of the research group e.g. to the Research Council of Norway or the EU (Horizon2020, ERC, etc.).

Terms of participation: The group meets at the Center for Women's and Gender Research five times a year: twice in the autumn, three times in the spring. Regular participation is essential. Members must contribute to the group's workplan and attend group meetings.

FemArc takes up new members at the beginning of each university year.
