INF-1101 Data structures and algorithms, INF-2200 Computer architecture and organization, INF-2201 Operating systems fundamentals, INF-2301 Computer communication and security, INF-2700 Databases
Course contents
This subject gives a theoretical and practical background for the development of large data systems. The lectures cover models, techniques and approach methods for system development, tools to develop systems, documentation techniques, quality assurance, organization of system development, users' participation, supplies management, personnel and time planning.
Language of instruction and examination
The language of instruction is English and all of the syllabus material is in English. Examination questions will be given in English, but may be answered either in English or a Scandinavian language.
Teaching methods
Lectures: 30 hours, Colloquium: 30 hours, Laboratory: 30 hours.
Assessment methods
Portfolio assessment. Exam includes a project work during the semester, graded 50%. Oral presentation will be claimed. The course has a final written exam (3 hours) graded 50%. One common grade will be given.
Course requirements: The coursework includes participation on a larger project throughout the semester.
Assessment scale: Letter grades A-F.
Re-sit examination:
Section 22. Given early in teaching free semester, if the subject is compulsory in the study plan. A re-sit exam in the part or parts of the last ordinary exam which was not passed will be given.
Postponed examination:
Sections 18, 21 and 34. According to section 21, a postponed exam in the part or parts which the candidate was prevented from at the last ordinary exam will be arranged.
New ordinary examination:
There will not be given a new ordinary examination in the teaching free semester for this course.
