INBOUND STUDENT MOBILITY: HOW TO APPLY (EXCHANGE FOR STUDIES)

Please read the overview of the process below and use it as a checklist to make sure you complete all the necessary steps.
All exchange/trainee student must be nominated electronically through an established institutional agreement. Without a formal agreement in place, we cannot accept your application or enrol you as an active student at UiT.
APPLICATION & NOMINATION PERIODS

15 SEP (start) - 15 OCT (deadline) for the spring semester (January to June)

15 MARCH (start) - 22 APR (deadline) for the autumn semester (August to December)
1- You must be electronically nominated by your home university
CONTACT YOUR HOME UNIVERSITY
Check with your exchange coordinator or the international office at your home university to see whether there is an exchange agreement with UiT The Arctic University of Norway.
NOMINATION TO UiT
Your home university must nominate you electronically via a formal institutional agreement with UIT and within the above-mentioned deadlines.
2- You must complete UiT's application after your nomination
GENERAL ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS FOR EXCHANGE
You must:

apply through your international mobility coordinator at your home university. The nomination must be linked to a valid exchange agreement within your field of study between UiT and your home university. UiT's Online Nomination Web

have a good command of English at B2 or C1 levels according to the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR). Language proficiency requirements

upload the mandatory documents on UiT's Appllication Web Service within the specified deadline. Please follow the steps below.

must be physically onsite and actively participate in courses and examinations. Application for only online course modules does not entitle you for exchange status at UIT.
CREATE YOUR APPLICATION PROFILE
Once nominated, you will receive an invitation email from UiT to create your applicant profile on UiT's online Application Web Services.

We have put together a simple guide for you where we explain how to plan your courses and how you find information, such as prerequisites and the syllabus, for each course.
DOWNLOAD YOUR LEARNING AGREEMENT
The Learning Agreement forms the basis for the approval of the course modules or traineeship at UiT and is essential for gaining financial support from your home university.
CHOOSE COURSE MODULES FOR YOUR LEARNING AGREEMENT
You can search for course modules for inbound exchange students at UiT through the Course Catalogue.
DO YOU HAVE QUESTIONS ABOUT THE COURSE MODULES?
The course coordinators at UiT's faculties will advise you on the course requirements / schedules and whether you can take the course or not given your educationcal background.
UPLOAD THE MANDATORY DOCUMENTS ON SØKNADSWEB
Please upload all the required documents on UiT's Application Web Services (Søknadsweb). Incomplete applications will be rejected!
