Quan Do
Stillingsbeskrivelse
Quan Do was born in Hanoi, the capital of Vietnam. After graduating from the Hanoi University of Science and Technology (HUST) with Summa Cum Laude, he worked in speech and image processing, speed and pattern recognition for the Vietnam Research Institute of Electronics, Informatics, and Automation for around three years.
He had six years studying Master and Ph.D. at the Korea Advanced Institute of Science and Technology (KAIST) and the Gwangju Institute of Science and Technology (GIST) in Korea in image and video processing, mammography, pattern recognition, machine learning, H.264/AVC, and image and video coding. Then, he worked for Vieworks Co. Ltd. and DRTECH Corporation in Korea for nine years in medical image and video processing, pattern recognition, machine learning, and many applications for digital X-ray flat-panel static and dynamic detectors, i.e., general radiography, veterinary, dental, fluoroscopy, C-arm, cardiac angiography, mammography, and non-destructive testing. Moreover, his algorithms and coding programs have been applied to the companies' products, which have returned millions of dollars per month for sale.
He is now working for UiT The Arctic University of Norway in Tromsø, about high-performance computing, parallel programming, optimization, computational nanoscopy, and super-resolution biomedical microscopic image and video on single-machine (state-of-the-art desktop computers or Linux-based servers) and multi-machines (clusters of computers).
