    Forskningsinteresser

    Forskningen gjennom de siste 40 årene har vært konsentrert omkring de kroniske sykdommers epidemiologi, særlig hjerte-karsykdommer og kreft. I en lang periode hadde jeg vitenskapelig samarbeid med Loma Linda University, California, USA.

    Undervisning

    Bjarne K. Jacobsen har undervist epidemiologi på alle nivåer (medisin grunnfag, masterkurs, PhD-kurs), mest ved Universitetet i Tromsø.  Han har også veiledet masterstudenter og PhD-studenter. Han har vært hovedveileder for 6 PhD-studenter og biveileder for 7 andre som har forsvart sin dr.grad. I tillegg har han tatt aktivt del i velledningen av flere andre PhD-studenter.
