    Forskningsinteresser

    Camilla Brekke er Prorektor forskning og utvikling ved UiT Norges arktiske universitet. Brekke har fartstid som Prodekan forskning ved Fakultet for naturvitenskap og teknologi og nestleder ved CIRFA som er et senter for forskningsdrevet innovasjon (SFI). Brekke er Professor i informatikk ved Institutt for fysikk og teknologi. Brekkes forskning dreier seg i hovedsak om satellittfjernmåling og jordobservasjon med syntetisk apertur radar (SAR) samt optisk fjernmåling av havfarge. Hun er interessert i algoritmeutvikling for analyse av multidimensjonale data i tid og rom og integrert fjernmåling og modellering. Brekke har fokusert på arktiske anvendelser av fjernmålingen, hvor oljeforurensning på havet og sjøis har vært i fokus. Hun har erfaring med planlegging og gjennomføring av storskala integrerte datainnsamlinger fra tokt med skip og fly og laboratoriearbeid. Hun har sine akademiske grader fra Universitet i Oslo, og har tidligere arbeidet ved Forsvarets forskningsinstitutt (FFI) og den europeiske romfartsorganisasjonen (ESA).
