autumn 2016
STE6225 El Machines and Power Electronics 2 - 5 ECTS
Course content
Content
The topics are based on relevant industrial issues or ongoing research projects at HIN. Relevant topics should also provide a basis for design of power electronics systems: converter circuits, driver circuits for power semiconductors, snubber circuits, as well as control algorithms for power electronics systems, The teaching is based on a design project where one or more practical laboratory experiments are included. A number of theoretical lectures are given where project-related topics are highlighted. Construction work is aided by computer simulations, using MATLAB and PSpice.
Objectives of the course
Learning outcomes, skills and attitudes
The course will provide a deeper understanding of current topics in power electronics and electric machines. Through practical project work students are properly prepared for future construction activity in the field of industrial electronics.
