Menno Witter is one of the directors at the world leading Kavli Institute of Systems Neuroscience at NTNU, Trondheim. His scientific merits have for many years been at the frontiers of human and comparative neuroanatomy. His long-term collaboration with May-Britt and Edvard Moser lead to the seminal discovery of the “grid cell” and the brain´s navigational system. The findings were in 2014 rewarded with the Noble Prize in Physiology or Medicine.
