Structure your research data

A good structure and documentation of research are essential both for your own work, and for the sharing of your data.

When you collect data, it might be that you primarily focus on the collection procedure, at the expense of  not prioritizing structuring and documentation. This might make it more difficult to investigate your data later, and in the worst case, you must redo the data collection. If you plan to share your data, there are extra demands on good structure and documentation, so that others will be able to understand and (re)use the data correctly.

In this course, we give advice on how to structure and document data in a good way from the start of the collection, and what aspects you should be especially aware of when sharing them.
