Kilanta: Housework in a Fulani community

Fulani girls living in northern Cameroon have less formal education than boys. From a certain age, a girl has to be initiated to some cultural practices and housework duties called “kilanta”. The film shows how children are thought important values through household tasks and activities.

New way of life

A group of nomadic Mbororo has migrated to Bahouan, a village in the Western Cameroon in search of a livelihood. The film gives a vivid description of how the Mbororo, despite of being a minority group, have managed to build an interethnic peaceful relationship with the Bahouan people.
