History Politics and War Memories of the North (UPAST)

Student mobility semester

headed by Kari Aga Myklebost.

This work package will develop and pilot a full semester of student mobility between, on the one hand, UiT/Faculty of Humanities, Social Sciences and Teacher Education’s MA programmes in History, in Peace and Conflict Studies and in Indigenous Studies, and on the other hand, the HSE/Centre for Historical Research’s MA programmes, most notably the MA programme in Global and regional history. As part of this, a new English language 10 ECTS MA course in Arctic history and memory studies will be developed at UiT. Single courses on MA level from the English taught programmes in Humanities and Social Sciences at UiT will be considered for inclusion in the pilot. On the HSE side, a structure of the courses taught in English and covering relevant topics is already in place. The pilot mobility semester will be evaluated thoroughly by both students, lecturers and administrators to assess a possible permanent mobility semester between the partner institutions.
