The 2015 Hassel Lecture: Preventing and Curing Infectious Diseases: Carbohydrate Vaccines and Continuous Flow Synthesis

This year's Hassel lecture is given by the highly accomplished Prof. Peter H. Seeberger.

Prof. Seeberger has authored or co-authored close to 400 peer-reviewed journal articles and is the recipient of a multitude of awards and honors. He was full professor at the ETH in Zürich between 2003 and 2009 and has been full professor at the Free University of Berlin since 2009. In his lecture, he will discuss the production of synthetic oligosaccharides and cost-effective production of anti-infection drugs, featuring applications such as the anti-malaria drug artemisinin.

This is mainly a lecture in chemistry and should primarily be of interest to students and researchers in natural or (bio)medical sciences. It is organized in cooperation between the Institute of Chemistry and the Norwegian Chemical Society.

For more information, please read the abstract at www.chem.uit.no/nks/ - the lecture will be given in English.

There is every reason to believe that this will be a very exciting and interesting lecture from one of the world-leading authorities in this field. Everyone is welcome!
