The Culture and Social Sciences Library has a dedicated room called the Indigenous Collection – Álgoálbmotčoakkáldat in Sámi. The room was established in 2008 and officially opened on May 15th of the same year.

In this room you will find our Indigenous collection, which contains the majority of the library's books and materials relevant to Indigenous peoples. The collection covers a wide range of topics, but all titles have some form of connection to Indigenous peoples, either through the language the books are written in or the subjects they address.

The room also has two computers with DVD-rooms, available for use during your visit. The Indigenous collection follows the Dewey Decimal Classification system.

The Indigenous Collection is located on the 3rd floor of the library, in the southwest corner.

Please contact the University Library for further information about the Indigenous Collection.
