Forskningsgruppens overordnede mål er gjennom forsknings- og formidlingsarbeid å bidra til økt kunnskap om hva som bestemmer menneskelig prestasjonsevne og hvordan fysiske, mentale og pedagogiske prosesser kan påvirke ferdighets- og prestasjonsutvikling i alle deler av befolkningen. Spesiell vekt legges på å utvikle metoder og teknologi for analyser og målinger av fysiologiske og psykologiske variabler.
