Usage of artificial intelligence in image diagnostics

The research project "Use of artificial intelligence in image diagnostics" collaborates with and follows up on Vestre Viken's implementation project, where the country's first commercial artificial intelligence solutions for radiology are being implemented after hospital admission. The research project aims to identify opportunities and challenges in introducing commercial artificial intelligence and generate knowledge that can be directly applied in Vestre Viken's project and similar projects in other healthcare institutions. The research project maintains regular communication with the Vestre Viken project to feed knowledge into ongoing processes for addressing challenges. The research project is led by the National Center for e-Health Research (NSE) and collaborates with the procurement project in Vestre Viken, which is owned and led by Vestre Viken HF.

The project at Vestre Viken is anchored in national policies on AI in Report No. 7 (2019–2020) and the National Health and Hospital Plan 2020–2023. The Directorate of Health is also a collaborating partner.
