Natural risk, such as avalanches, are life threating challenges for humans’ activity in the mountains. Accidents when traveling in mountains impact both leisure activity, tourism, and local societies. Research and development projects are done to reduce the number of critical events related to use of nature. One risk reducing effort is to educate and qualify guides. Guides are recognized as an important safety factor in the growing sector of alpine ski touring. This Project will with a sociocultural perspective investigate what professional vision is in the eyes of guide educators, how the guide candidates learn this in education and how fresh educated guides put professional vision into use in their work as guides.
