Norwegian Centre for eDNA of Arctic Ecosystems Through Time

Main Goal

To advance our understanding of the combined effect of climate, biota and human interactions on Arctic, Sub-arctic and Alpine ecosystem dynamics in the past, present, and future using environmental DNA and other biomolecules.

  1. Provide a National Facility for the analysis of eDNA from sediments and soils
  2. Move toward full ecosystem reconstruction of terrestrial, aquatic, and coastal communities.
  3. Expand the use of archaeogenomics for human-environment interactions and lifeways.
  4. Develop environmental DNA techniques for Arctic ecosystem and heritage management.
  5. Build up a diverse, rigorous, & internationally leading research group in ecosystem genomics.
