The MARSCI research group is offering a unique internship program for students who are interested in getting involved with scientific research. This opportunity lets you address crucial research questions and contribute meaningfully to safety advancements.
Focus area 1: Accident analysis and prevention
Investigating the root causes of maritime accidents and developing strategies for accident prevention.
Focus area 2: Human factors and learning solutions
Studying the impact of human factors on maritime safety, designing, developing and implementing innovative learning solutions to improve seafarer performance and decision-making.
Focus area 3: Safety management and leadership
Focusing on diversified approach to safety management systems and leadership practices for safety culture improvement.
Focus area 4: Smart technology and innovation management
Exploring the development, deployment and implications of novel ship technologies and new operational concepts for safety, reliability and environmental sustainability in maritime operations.
Internship Mentorship |
Each intern will be mentored by 1-2 researchers who possess either a PhD degree or are licensed sea officers, and have the opportunity to present at international conferences and collaborate with experts in relevant fields for the selected research question. |
Key Responsibilities |
Assist in the collection and analysis of data and preparation of reports to support research findings. Carry out research based on the research question provided by mentor(s). Engage in knowledge-sharing activities, including workshops and seminars, to stay abreast of the latest research updates and findings. |
