The MARSCI Research Group is committed to enhancing maritime safety through targeted basic and applied research and innovations. Our goal is to support the improvement of safety practices and sustainability within the maritime industry, contributing to incremental and measurable progress.

The MARSCI research group contains 4 focus areas with each of them represents a pillar of the MARSCI’s efforts to address comprehensive aspects of maritime safety, incorporating interdisciplinary approaches to make useful contributions to the field.

Investigating the root causes of maritime accidents and developing strategies for accident prevention. 

Studying the impact of human factors on maritime safety, designing, developing and implementing innovative learning solutions to improve seafarer performance and decision-making.

Focusing on diversified approach to safety management systems and leadership practices for safety culture improvement.

Exploring the development, deployment and implications of novel ship technologies and new operational concepts for safety, reliability and environmental sustainability in maritime operations.

The research equipment acquired through the I-MASTER research project, funded by the European Union, is available for relevant academic and educatonal use. Access requires the completion of the user registration form to ensure equitable access and transparent utilization.
