The IoT-to-Extreme-Edge Infrastructure
The goal of the project is to simplify research and teaching on cyber-physical and IoT systems by establishing an infrastructure making the creation and experimentation of nodes and systems of nodes simpler and faster.
Several existing testbeds target specific IoT and edge applications such as machine learning, security, social experiments etc. To model IoT edge nodes, using virtualization and containers is a common solution used in state of the art. Few testbeds focus on studying edge nodes.
We propose an IoT Edge testbed that targets accurate edge nodes experiments. This work aims to strengthen existing state of the art. The proposed testbed provides the user with exclusive access to physical edge nodes that can be accurately monitored (for example in energy). The work also aims at promoting reproducibility.
