Prevention of school dropouts through social and academic support measures
Boy's campusThe survey focuses on what experiences the boys themselves have during and after Gutta's campus. How did they experience being at camp, what was good, what was useful, did they learn something daily at camp, how was the interaction with the other participants and what was different at camp compared to at school, what do they think of the program and how was the return to school. Interview round number two is about the experiences they have gained from participating in mentoring centers every two weeks and whether the experiences from the camp still have an impact on school engagement and well-being. Interview three is about mapping the transition to upper secondary school. Where they got in, what they think now and the aftermath of Guttas Campus.
The project consists of three rounds of interviews with 16 participants at Gutta's Campus in Nord in 2022. The boys were interviewed after they returned to school in the autumn in the 10th grade. The camp was in June while they were still in ninth grade. The boys were also interviewed in the spring before their tenth grade exam and interviewed by phone in the fall of November/December 2023 when they were scheduled to have started upper secondary school.
