Grand Meeting at Sommarøya 2010

Travel information

The meeting proper will start Monday morning the 7th, and participants should arrive at the meeting site on Sunday evening. Sommarøya lies about a one hour drive west of Tromsø city, and we will organize joint bus transportation from the airport some time in the late afternoon on Sunday 6 (probably around 6-7 p.m.). Ideally, participants should therefore book their flights so that they arrive in Tromsø in the afternoon: in the registration form we have asked for arrival information so as to be able to plan and organize this.

We otherwise urge participants to book their travel as early as possible in order to keep the costs down. For those uncertain about how long they will stay in Tromsø, notice that both SAS and Norwegian sell one-way economy tickets, so that one may buy the ticket to Tromsø first and then the return ticket at a later stage. On Wednesday, in the early afternoon, there will again be an organized bus transportation from Sommarøya to Tromsø city. For those leaving home on Wednesday, return tickets can safely be bought with departure time from 17.00 and later.
