Excursions and other things

We are planning a one-day excursion on the Sunday (i.e. August 19). We will be going to the volcano Askja. It is a whole day trip (10-12 hours by bus, partially over pretty rough terrain (lava fields, deserts, rivers ...)) so it will require a certain amount of good humor, patience, stamina, etc. If the weather is bad, we may have to change the plan to something a bit less exotic, but this will be the only excursion planned by the organizers. Those who don't feel up to it are, of course, free to make their own excursion arrangements instead, but please notify Gestamóttakan if you don't plan to join us on this excursion.

There will also be a short guided tour in the Mývatn area Thursday morning the 16th from 9.30-12.00. This tour is sponsored by the local municipality, Skutustaðahreppur.
