I've added a few talk titles to the grand meeting program – more to come! Another thing: the daily direct connection between Vaasa and Copenhagen has recently been shut down, as I've made a note of on the Solf meeting info page

Tysdag 18. april
I går tømte Curt posthylla si etter påske og fann då eit brev frå NordForsk som fortalde at søknaden om Nordic Language Variation Network (jf. innlegget mitt av 1. mars i år) har gått vidare til andre runde, så no får vi 100k NOK til å utarbeida ein fullstendig søknad innan 20. juni kl. 16.00!

Langfredag 14. april
4 PhD positions are available at the University of Groningen, see this call. One of them is earmarked for the project Linguistic determinants of mutual intelligibility in Scandinavia and requires a candidate that is fluent in one of the Scandinavian languages. The other three positions are only open for foreign (i.e. non-Dutch) citizens, and one of several possible areas for the positions is language variation and language change. (Another possible area is syntax and semantics...)

Fredag 7. april
I går svarte administrerande direktør i Noregs Forskingsråd, Arvid Hallén, på kronikken Janne, Tor og eg hadde i forrige veke (jf. nedanfor). Det var eit godt svar i den forstand at det verkar som om Forskingsrådet har tenkt å ta humanistisk (e-)infrastuktur på alvor. Det blir spennande å sjå kva den reelle politikken deira blir!

Sten Vikner has asked me to pass around information about the PhD course & workshop on "Object Positions and Clause Structure" to be held at Sandbjerg Estate 14-17 June this year, so I did that plus put a note of it in the ScanDiaSyn-forum...

I dag fekk vi endeleg lyst ut forskarstillingane knytta til NORMS, jf. heimesida til NORMS. No blir det spennande å sjå kor mange søknadar vi får inn...
