The Århus network group
The research group at the University of Aarhus is one of two groups in the network responsible for the Danish subproject of ScanDiaSyn (DanDiaSyn). The Danish groups have received a grant from the Danish Research Council for Culture and Communication and will during 2007 and 2008 collect material from Danish dialects. The group in Århus consists of the following members:
• Sten Vikner (leader)
• Henrik Jørgensen, lektor dr. phil. (co-manager)
• Maia Andréasson, post.doc
• Tavs Bjerre, Assistant Professor
• Ken Ramshøj Christensen, post doc
• Karen Thagaard Hagedorn, research assistant
• Inger Schoonderbeek Hansen, Assistant Professor
• Johannes Kizach, PhD student
• Anne Kjeldahl, PhD student
• Johanna Wood, Associate Professor PhD
The group is composed of researchers in different fields of syntax. One special feature is that the group encompasses researchers from different points-of-view: classical dialectology (Hansen, Hagedorn), functionalism (Jørgensen, Kizach, Bjerre) and formalism (Vikner, Andréasson, Kjeldahl, Wood, Christensen).
The group was responsible for the Workshop on Object Positions in January 2007 which was a final event of a project on Object Positions in functional and formal syntactic theory and co-funded by this project and NORMS. The group is currently engaged in collecting data on the syntax of Danish dialects, financed by a grant from the Danish National Research Council. At the moment, preparations for two upcoming events are handled by the group: one of them a NORMS field trip to Western Jutland in January 2008, the other the 4th Grand Meeting of ScanDiaSyn, which will be held at the Sandbjerg Estate in Southern Jutland in August 2008.
