Type of course

The course is optional for students taking a master’s degree in Fisheries and Aquaculture Science. It is also open for single-course students with relevant backgrounds. The course requires attendance on campus.

Course contents

This course introduces students to Marine Planning with a particular focus on fisheries and aquaculture development. Drawing on theories of sustainability and governance, the course provides a conceptual foundation for understanding the complexity of marine planning processes. In particular, the course emphasizes the social and institutional dimensions of planning.

Admission requirements

Applicants must have a bachelor's degree or equivalent in social sciences, economics, biology or a combination of these subjects. An average grade of at least C is required in the bachelor's degree.
