Teaching methods
Instruction and supervision will take place individually and in groups, and it is expected that the student will undertake a significant amount of independent work. The student will have an independent responsibility to organise and take part in different ensembles. The student will also take part in instrument classes, projects, and ensembles organised by the Academy of Music. A plan for this work will be made at the start of each semester. The student must take part in public solo/ensemble concerts and write programme notes. Applications can be made for accompaniment, but the student should seek to arrange group work and practice with other students. The student is required to provide a repertoire list detailing the music studied (90 minutes), which must include both solo and ensemble music.
