Course contents
The field course will be applied upon the event of intensive courses held by the CPS in collaboration with partner institutions and/or units. It is to secure the quality of the contents through a formalization of requirements, and to secure the accountability of the participants and their contributions.
Peace Studies is internationally oriented and interdisciplinary in character. Through offering credited field courses, participating students will gain valuable experience in meeting scholars and peers in complex international settings, where they can discuss and relate their projects to topical issues.

Objective of the course
The students will gain the following learning outcomes:
Knowledge:
- an overview of the current topical and theoretical debates
- insights into different methods and theoretical aspects concerning the topic in question
Skills:
- ability to write an academic text on the topical issue
- ability to take active part in academic discussions and to contribute with constructive feedback/peer review
Competence:
- ability to reflect on complex academic topical problems
- ability to present their projects in an academic setting, and to submit an academic written work

Teaching methods
One week intensive course:
- Lectures, 10 hours
- Seminars, including student/candidate presentations and peer reviews, 10 hours
- Excursion, 1 day
Individual reading of set curriculum pre-course and submission of topical individual paper post-course.
