Course contents
The purpose of the course is to train the students admitted to the Student Research Programme in Psychology in their skills to present, discuss and defend their research.
The course will start in the Fall when the students start their full year of research.
In the Fall and in the following Spring semester the students will present their research projects. In the Fall semester, this will be within their small group, and in the Spring semester, this will be within the department’s research seminar. For the presentation in the Fall, other students will act as opponents.
Objective of the course
At the end of the course, the students are expected to be able to:
Knowledge:
- Present their research on a high scientific level
- Defend their research
- Comment constructively on critical evaluations of their research
Skills:
- Develop critical thinking towards different research projects (including their own and other research projects)
- Communicate research results to a scientific audience
- Participate in a scientific discourse
General competence:
- Present and evaluate projects
Language of instruction
Teaching methods
The course requires each participating student to present their research project twice (one is a work requirements and one is the exam), and to function as opponents for other students.
The lecturer will provide the students with information about presentation techniques and feedback on their presentations.
