Course contents

The course of Industry X.0 aims at providing students with a comprehensive understanding of the latest trends and technologies shaping the future of industry and work lives. Industry X.0 is the term used to summarize the coming industrial revolution, i.e., Industry 4.0/5.0/6.0, which is a human-centric and sustainable societal transition driven by technologies such as artificial intelligence, the Internet of Things, smart robotics, and digital twin.

In this course, some key drivers and enablers of Industry X.0 will be explored, and their ways of transforming the manufacturing, supply chains, and service sectors will be discussed. The course consists of two-week intensive teaching. The first week focuses on smart manufacturing and robotics, and the second week focuses on smart logistics and operations. Students will learn the latest advances in relevant technologies and how they are being used to improve operational effectiveness, reduce costs, and increase sustainability.

Additionally, the challenges and opportunities of Industry X.0 in transforming traditional manufacturing systems, supply chains, and business processes will be discussed. By completing this course, students will obtain a solid understanding of how Industry X.0 will change the business landscape today. Whether you are an entrepreneur, a manager, or an engineer, this course will provide the tools and knowledge you need to become successful in the next industrial revolution.


Admission requirements

Bachelor degree in Engineering programme in mechanical, electrical power, electronics, mechatronics, material science, industrial engineering, process engineering or other equivalent majors.

In addition, the following requirements must be met:

• minimum 25 credits in mathematics (equivalent to Mathematical Methods 1, 2 og 3)

• 5 credits in statistics

• 7,5 ects i physics on a higher level is required.

The requirement for physics can be covered by 7.5 credits in physics, building physics, fluid mechanics, thermodynamics and/or mechanics of materials.

Teaching methods

The course will be given as two-week intensive teaching in the Autumn semester. It is not possible to take the course in the spring.
