TEK-3004 Specialization Project with method seminars - 10 stp

A technical course. The course can not be taken as a singular course.

The students will carry out an engeneering or research project within a selected area of the field of techonology an safety applied on a problem relevnt to the High North. The Dept. will announce a list of specific projest proposals. The student's choice in specialization, as well as the project itself, is to be approved by the Dept. by the end of the preceding semester. A supervisor will be appointed for each student. The project will be performed under guidance of the dedicated supervisor. The project will be given a theoretical foundation by the specialization Course. The project should preferably lead up to the master thises. A series of seminars will be arranged covering the research methods of engeneering and the nature of ingeneering science, methodology in general and writing and structure of an academic report.

The goal is to give the students knowledge of the research methodology of engeneering, the ability to carry out scentific work and skills in presenting the results in an academic thesis.

Guidance will be given in the Engelish language. Report to be written in the English language.

Mandatory project within report. The project will be presented in the class. Mandatory participation on the seminars.

Off campus exam hand in date 15.12.2022

The date for the exam can be changed. The final date will be announced at your faculty early in May and early in November.
