The course can be taken as a singular course.

Course contents

The course is about the concept of resilience, which is increasingly used as an umbrella concept in dealing with safety and security issues. The concept is applied to the different fields: societal/community, organizational, technological, ecological/environmental, economic, and psychological. The course is multidisciplinary, reaching from social sciences to engineering. A great part of the course is dedicated to critical infrastructure resilience.

Application deadline

Applicants from Nordic countries: 1 June for the autumn semester and 1 December for the spring semester. Exchange students and Fulbright students: 1 October for the spring semester and 15 April for the autumn semester.

Teaching methods

Lectures, group-work and self-studies.

The course is organized into 10 teaching sessions of 3 hour each.


Assessment

5 hours written examcounting 100 %. Letter grades A - E, F fail. 

Re-sit exam will be arranged early in the following semester for students that failed the regular exam or had documented legitimate absence.

Lectures and exam will be given in the English language. Exam to be answered in the English language.
