PSY-3024 UiT Autism Seminar - 10 stp

The course is offered as a singular course on all master's programs.

Course contents

The aim of this course is to give students opportunity to immerse themselves in a topic that is not represented in other subjects at UiT. The purpose of the course is to give students a broader knowledge of Autism Spectrum Disorders in both a clinical and research perspective, but also in a social society perspective.

 

The lectures cover the following topics:


Application deadline

Applicants from Nordic countries: 1 June. Exchange students and Fulbright students: 15th of April.

Admission requirements

BA -degree. The BA must have minimum average grade of C or better.

Objective of the course

Expertise within the theme Autism Spectrum Disorders (ASD), more detailed, the student should have the following knowledge:

Teaching methods

11 lectures at two hours. Lectures will be held by Institute of Psychology, Norwegian Institute of Public Health, Ullevaal University Hospital, University of Oslo, Yale Child Study Center employees. It is assumed that the student reads the syllabus and scientific articles posted on ClassFronter.

Assessment

10 page home exam. Grades are given on a scale from A - F. If the students get the grade F, a re-sit exam will be arranged the following semester.

Students are measured on knowledge, ability to integrate theory from textbooks and scientific articles, as well as format exam in APA format.

The date for the exam can be changed. The final date will be announced at your faculty early in May and early in November.

Scientific articles relevant to the different themes will be available in ClassFronter before lectures.
