Course contents

Management, with particular emphasis on leadership and innovation of technology companies. Strategic Management. Group Processes. Legal issues relevant to businesses. Human resource and conflict management. Innovation, internationalization and strategy work. In addition, students should be aware of ownership issues concerning R & D results.

Application deadline

Applicants from Nordic countries: 1 June for the autumn semester and 1 December for the spring semester. Exchange students and Fulbright students: 1 October for the spring semester and 15 April for the autumn semester.

Admission requirements

ADMISSION REQUIREMENTS: A relevant undergraduate bachelor Engineering programme with minimum 30 credits mathematic/statistics topics

Objective of the course

Preparing students for mangement responsibilities at different levels of technology-based private and public enterprises. In addition the students should receive a basic understanding of the ideas and principles behind the concept of total quality management and innovation. Furhermore, the course will contribute to the student's understanding of human relationships and the social impact and influence of the technology

Teaching methods

During two separated and concentrated weeks all theory and project oriented work will be done. Module 1&2 in the first week and module 3&4 in the second. Each day of Monday-Thursday (0800-1600) are split into one half of theoretic lectures and one half of project work in teams.

Assessment

Project paper accounts for 50% of the grade in the course.

3 hours written exam accounts for 50% of the grade in the course.

Grading will be done by A-F grading scale. A re-sit exam will be arranged for this course.
