Content
Introduction to top-level view of computer function and interconnection, cache memory, internal memory technology, input/output, operating system support, computer arithmetic, instruction sets, adressing modes and formats, processor structure, and function and control unit operation.

ADMISSION REQUIREMENTS: A relevant undergraduate bachelor Engineering programme with minimum 30 credits Mathematics/statistics topics

Prerequisite(s) Knowledge about digital circuits and basic programming skills are preferable.
Objective of the course
Learning outcomes, skills and attitudes
Give students an introduction to computer architecture and operation. Provide a basis for selecting appropriate computer technology for the present task, i.e. specifying and selecting system components for control applications.

4 submitted assigments.Evaluation 3 h written exam, grading will be done by using A-F grading scale, where F is a fail. A re-sit exam will be arranged for this course
