BIO-3513A Term paper in freshwater ecology - 5 stp

Type of course
Master course for biology students - discipline Freshwater ecology. The course is not available as a singular course.
Course contents
The course starts with a general introduction to literature and scientific publishing. Then the students write a semester assignment based on literature studies. The semester assignment will provide a theoretical background for the master`s thesis. Students select theme and literature together with the supervisor. There will also be an oral presentation of the semester assignment at a seminar in freshwater ecology.
Objective of the course
Students that have completed the course:
- Have gained knowledge and insight to selected topics within freshwater ecology
- Can read and understand scientific literature
- Have learned the basics of writing a scientific thesis
- Can give a written presentation of topics within this field of science
