Vår 2012
ENG-1014 English in use - 10 stp
The course is administrated by
Institutt for språkvitenskap
Type of course
The course may be taken as an individual course. This course was designed for Norwegian students, and therefore has a Norwegian-English contrastive perspective. However, non-Norwegian students who wish to learn some more English are also welcome to take the course, although some types of exercises may be specifically aimed at Norwegian-speaking students and therefore difficult to do for non-speakers of Norwegian.
Course contents
In this course students will learn new words and practical use of grammar. They will also learn how our choice of words and constructions is influenced by non-linguistic factors such as style, text type and context. We will focus on differences between English and Norwegian which are known to present problems to Norwegian learners of English.
