Course content

Linear equations and nonlinear equations (Newton-Raphson included). Curve fitting and interpolation. Solution methods for differential equations (Runge-Kutta included). Other numerical solution methods. Detailed information is available at course start.

Objectives of the course

Theoretical knowledges and practical experience in basic numerical methods.

Lectures and workshop sessions.

Assessment

3 hours written exam, grading will be done by using A-F grading scale, where F is fail. A re-sit exam will be arranged for this course.
