DTE-3609 Virtual Reality, Graphics and Animation - theory - 5 ECTS

Admission requirements

A relevant undergraduate bachelor Engineering programme with minimum 30 credits Mathematics/statistics topics

Recommended prerequisite knowledge: Knowledge of OpenGL and C++

Course content

Basic visualization techniques, OpenGL, display hierarchy, camera and light, collision control, constraints, particles, mirroring textures and more. Shader programming, active objects, virtual environments, virtual control panels and other interface techniques, animation techniques and interactive simulations.

On completion of the course the successful student is expected to have the following:

Knowledge

Be able to describe in words, the central terminology, definitions, standards, methods and trends within the areas that are included in this course (K3).

Skills

Be able to use the knowledge to analyse and plan how to solve concrete examples (S1).

General competence

Know that basic visualisation techniques can be used in computer graphics, VR and animations / simulations (GC2).

Grouping: Individual

Grading will be done by using A-F grading scale, F is Fail. A re-sit exam will be arranged for this course.
