Objectives of the course

Knowledge

The student shall have the knowledge and understanding about;

  • solving a fluid flow problem using Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) and presentation of results from the analysis.
  • how visualization techniques can be used to analyse and present complex flow fields.
  • the importance of including the understanding of the basic flow problem and governing parameters into visualisation of the results.

Skills

The student should be able to;

  • identify basic fluid flow characteristics and flow parameters for analysis and visualization.
  • perform post processing and visualization of results from numerical simulations, applying existing and customized tools.
  • perform preliminary problem analysis, selection of parameters for the fluid flow model, numerical simulations, post-processing & visualization of results and reporting from project.

General Competence

  • The student will manage to apply his theoretical knowledge and engineering methods in analysis, solution and visualization of a practical fluid flow problem.
