Course content
Content
Mathematical models of dynamic sytems, Input-output descriptions, State-space descriptions, Linearization, State-space realization of input-output descriptions. Coordinate transformations, Stability, Lyapunov functions, Frequency domain analysis and synthesis, Controllability and stabilizability, Eigenvalue assignment, Linear quadratic optimal control, Algebraic Riccati equation. Observability and detectability, Observers, Output feedback, Separtion principle. Integral control. Nonlinearities: describing functions and circle criterion, Digital control: discretization of analogue controllers, direct discrete control synthesis.
Objectives of the course
Learning outcomes, skills and attitudes
Gain knowledge of principles and methods for analysis and synthesis of control systems in a state-space, time domain framework, as well as in frequency domain. Develop ability to apply current techniques and tools for design of control systems, including basic computer aided methods.
