The course includes topics such as:

  • Complex functions
  • Cauchy-Riemann equations
  • Complex integration
  • Taylor and Laurent series
  • Fractals
  • Residue
  • z-transformation
  • improper integrals
  • Max-mod. Principle
  • Applications to control theory

Large parts of the course will be conducted using video lectures that students see and hear by using the PC. The course is therefore also very good for students who choose to take a decentralized education and who are unable to stay at Narvik in the whole course period. Objectives of the course

The purpose of this course is to provide an introduction to the theory of analytic functions for master students in electrical engineering and control theory.

Large parts of the course will be conducted using video lectures that students see and hear by using the PC. In addition, individual supervision and regular lectures which include review of the assignments are made

Assessment

3 h written exam, grading will be done by using A-F grading scale, where F is a fail. A re-sit exam will be arranged for this course
