Applicants from Nordic countries: 1 June for the autumn semester and 1 December for the spring semester.

Exchange students and Fulbright students: 1 October for the spring semester and 15 April for the autumn semester.

Course content

Part 1 - Foundation Part 2 - Key actors and processes Part 3 - Contemporary issues in economics geography

Objectives of the course

Knowledge about the study of economic activity in places and across spaces (economic geography)

Knowledge Basic Economic GeographySkills how conduct knowledge-based development of regional and local economies

General competence  understanding the dynamics of evolutionary and institutional economy, and knowledge of some strategies for enhacing business environment and regional competitiveness

Teaching methods

The Lectures will take character of seminars. The Students are expected to work with concrete exercises, using Internet and ClassFronter as electronic information and learning tools.

Assessment

Course requirements: 

During the course, the students will write an essay which may not exceed 12 pages (12 pct, l.dist. 1.5). The title are to be approved by the lecturer

Examination: 

Summative evaluation integrates (70/30) the mark from a written exam at the end of the course, and the mark from the evaluation of the essay.

Grading: scale A ¿ F, with F for failed.

Possibility of re-sit exam in case of F.
