Dr. Nigel Crawhall will give a talk on the topic "Climate change and indigenous peoples' rights: reflections on North-South cooperation".

Nigel Crawhall is the Director of Secretariat for the Indigenous Peoples of Africa Coordinating Committee (IPACC). He has served as the IUCN Chair of the Theme on Indigenous Peoples, Local Communities, Equity and Protected Areas until 2015. He is the IUCN Commission chair of the specialist group on Religion, Spirituality, Environmental Conservation and Climate Justice (ReSpECC). He has a PhD in Sociolinguistics and lectured for the PhD course: Global debates and the African context: Indigenous Lifeways, Language and Landat the University of Tromsø, Department of Social Anthropology with the Erasmus Mundus scholarship in 2008.
