Western Sahara - the last colony of Africa - remains under partial Moroccan occupation, and the people of the territory fight for its legitimate right to self-determination.

Prof. Stephen Zunes from University of San Fransisco will lecture on the rights of the Western Sahara people in the context of the US foreign policy for the wider Middle East. Zunes is one of the world's leading researchers on the situation in Western Sahara.

Stephen Zunes was in 2010 co-author of one of the most authorative books on Western Sahara: Western Sahara: War, Nationalism, and Conflict Irresolution

The meeting will be opened with an introduction by Asria Mohamed, refugee from Western Sahara and information officer of the Norwegian Support Committee for Western Sahara.

There will be a light serving of coffee/tea and snacks! The seminar will be in English.
