Commemorating the 400th anniversary of the publication of Miguel de Cervantes Saavedra’s last novel Los trabajos de Persiles y Sigismunda. Historia septentrional / The Trials of Persiles and Sigismunda. A Northern Story, the Department of Language and Culture of The Arctic University of Norway, in Tromsoe, organizes the international conference: Cervantes in the North. The 400th anniversary of Persiles and Sigismunda. The conference gathers 80 literary scholars from all over the world in order to present the state of the art of scholarship on the work that Cervantes himself considered his greatest literary legacy.
The main language of the conference is Spanish, but the inaugural key note and some other papers are in English. See attached program.
