Academic Social Dialogue for African and Asian Students

This event aims to bring together students from Africa and Asia currently studying at UiT, Tromso. The purpose of the event is to create a safe space for old and new students to exchange ideas about the intricacies of living away from home. The event provides the opportunity for students to get to know each other more closely and give the students the possibility to learn different strategies to cope with the academic environment here in Tromsø.

The evening will start with an ice breaker session with the game "Arctic Bingo". Senior students and two invited former students will get to share their experiences of having studied and now working in Tromsø (i.e., Arctic survival tips and navigating through the academic environment at UiT). Finally, there will be presentations on some of the challenges of African and Asian students within the academic environment from the perspectives of senior members and how best new students can stem the tide to benefit from the resources available to them at UiT.
