Organizing Research Data Support at Harvard

The Harvard Data Commons and other Commons in research institutions

Guest lecture by Mercè Crosas, PhD, Harvard University, in connection with the European Dataverse Workshop 2020

The Harvard Data Commons aims to create a data-centric hub accessible to all Harvard researchers to improve research collaboration, data sharing, and data management throughout the research lifecycle. The Data Commons will build on and connect existing technologies used to clean, manage, analyze, and publish data, providing an interoperability framework to track the research inputs and outputs across tools, computing platforms, and Dataverse repositories. Mercè Crosas will present the proposed plans for the Harvard Data Commons and how the same framework can be applied to other institutional or regional Data Commons.

Mercè Crosas, PhD, is the University Research Data Officer at Harvard University Information Technology, and the Chief Data Science and Technology Officer at the Institute for Quantitative Social Science, Harvard University.
