Seminar om on Medicines Optimisation

Professor Michael Scott from Northern-Ireland will lecture on:

"Medicine Optimisation - What is it? And why we need it"

Professor Scott has in numerous years been involved in the development and implementation of systems to increase the safety of drug use in hospitals in Northern Ireland. He has also been involved in the development and implementation of the IMM (integrated medicines management) methodology.

During the lecture, he will share with us how, why and when medication safety in hospital is jeopardized, and how this influence patient care and use of resources in the health care services. He will also point out how we can work to increase safety of medication use in hospitals and reduce the risk of medication errors and drug related problems.

Professor Scott holds extensive experience within research and development of innovation systems concerning medicines optimisation.
