Professor Ralf Schwarzer, Freie Universität Berlin, Divison of Health Psychology
Health compromising behaviors such as physical inactivity or poor dietary habits are hard for people to change. Dr. Schwarzer has conducted extensive research on factors that hinders and promotes such changes, as well as the development of interventions that may help people change their unhealthy behavior habits. In order to tackle the forthcoming challenges related to for example physical inactivity, overweight and associated life-style diseases, his research on motivational, self-regulatory, action control and action planning components are highly relevant.
Schwarzer has an outstanding publication record in terms of number of publications (>500) and H-index (85). His research within health behavior change is thus widely recognized, cited and used by health practitioners and researchers world-wide. You may visit his website at my.psyc.de
